Product Photography AD Process post

This project i was asked to create an product advertisement using photos i took in Adobe's photoshop. So i quickly went with taking random shots of products and ultimately decided on the AIR JORDAN sneaker! And with this product my targeted audience would be consumers of any age into sneakers.

Disclaimer: This advertisement of the AIR JORDAN sneaker is a personal project created for educational and portfolio purposes.

The beginning!
I first started with taking plenty of photos with my Canon DSLR of the product. I decided to shoot outside because it offered the best lighting. Asking my brother for help, holding them into position i went to work.
First Mock-ups!
I started with masking out the product and looked around the internet for a more urban background. I wanted to make the shoes blend with the environment more, so i went about using gaussian blur and brushing shadows and playing with filters/lightings effects. I kind of already knew what style i was going for once i seen the powerlines in most urban photos. I needed a background with powerlines but also needed space for the shoes to rest. So i started with creating different ads with a minimalistic approach only adding small elements to keep the shoe the star of the show.
Proto-Ad!
As the Proto-Ad started to come together i got rid of the clunky title at the top and instead add a phrase to the bottom. I chose those words because they are very common in the brand's identity. I also started playing with more shades of color to make the ad pop!
Final Project!
After receiving critiques i knew exactly what to target! I first started with adding a shadow to the shoes on the powerline to give more detail and depth to the ad. I then reduced some of the gaussian blur and changed the color and size of my fonts to finalize everything, and with this my Product Ad design!
